Hoi An!!

Heyyyyy!!! Arrived in Da Nang airport and headed straight to Hoi An --- all in Vietnam for those who don't know.
Such a cute little place - cool bridges, seems like a million motor bikes that we keep trying to dodge, and tailors everywhere you look! So of course we had to get some custom clothing!!

Went for a bike tour of the town and then headed for the tailor. We were greeted by about 40 girls ready to show us material and tell them exactly what we wanted. As usual I start getting anxious and freaking out when store clerks approach me and ask if I want anything.

Danielle was totally cool calm and collected. However making a purse was a totally different Story. She's even had nightmares about how awful it could turn out.

Afterwards we headed to a Vietnamese cooking class!!! We made fresh spring rolls, rice pancakes in a roll, chicken and a papaya salad!! All turned out really good. Much better than the Thai cooking class! I'm such an amazing chef now!!

  1. Good to hear from you guys. You have covered a long way in a short time. Da Nang is a good distance from HCMC and your Cambodian tour.

Are you near the beach? The snorkeling at Nha Trang sounds like a great spot and Banana boating with Aussies, hmmm.

The tailors - what do they make other then purses or skirts. What did you guys have made, cultural dress perhaps. You can make me another pashmina.

The cooking looks like fun, you have seen and sampled many new foods. Hopefully, the pale green is not caused by the food.

Any historical or religious sites to visit, are you heading as far north as Hanoi or returning to HCMC.

Send us some beach pictures, South China Sea beaches if you can. Also, I would like to see some pictures if you go back to HCMC of the Mekong delta.

    Enjoy, keep posting. Take care.

    1. Oh yeah, I forgot you don't have our Vietnam itinerary. We went as north as Hanoi or halong bay and didnt make it back to hcmc before we had to fly to Singapore. Didn't really like hcmc anyway. It was overwhelmingly huge and I would have needed to spend like 2 weeks there to get a fix of the city life. Prefer the smaller towns so much more!

More pictures attached on the next post. Enjoy!
